Courtney presented details about each program, highlighting their coverage options, eligibility criteria, and state availability. The presentation included a live demo of the BTIS rater, showing how agents can input information to receive instant quotes for contractor general liability insurance. The session concluded with information about accessing BTIS through the First Connect portal and the support available from the BTIS team for classifying risks and submitting new business.
Remodeling Contractor Quote Process Demo
The meeting focused on demonstrating the process of creating a quote for a remodeling contractor, including inputting applicant information, business operations details, and selecting coverage options. Malissa explained key aspects such as class codes, gross receipts, and available coverage additions like faulty workmanship and errors and omissions. The demonstration concluded with the final steps of submitting the quote, receiving approval, and choosing payment and signing options.
Quote Completion Process Discussion
Courtney and Malissa discussed the process for completing a quote, addressing potential timeout issues and payment requirements. Malissa explained that payment must be completed by the applicant before the e-sign option becomes available, and once payment is submitted, an email invite will be sent to the insured for electronic signature. The entire process should take 5-6 minutes to complete, with support available from both the underwriting team and sales team for any questions.
First Connect Application Process Overview
The team discussed application processes and product offerings through First Connect. Malissa explained that applications can be downloaded as PDFs either from the website or via email confirmation, with two options for submission: online upload or email. McKenzie clarified that BORs (Brokers of Record) are only accepted at renewal and must be submitted between 6-60 days prior to the renewal date. The team confirmed that currently only commercial GL products are available through First Connect, with workers' comp and other products not yet offered, and that agency bill options are limited to direct bill only.
Insurance Program Coverage Discussion
The meeting focused on discussing insurance program details and coverage options. Malissa explained that minimum premiums range from $550 to $1,000 depending on state and class code, and clarified that residential cleaning is not covered but commercial office cleaning is allowed. Philip Massaro, Vice President of GL, outlined additional features including tool floaters, excess coverage up to $5 million, and errors and omissions coverage with a $10,000 limit and $1,000 deductible. The team confirmed that custom home framing is covered but new truck homes are not, and McKenzie announced that the presentation was recorded and would be shared via email.
