Players Health Partnership Launch
The meeting discussed the launch of a new partnership with Players Health, a GL product offering 11% new and 11% renewal rates. The primary focus of the new partner is on amateur sports, youth sports organizations, fitness facilities, sports clinics, and camps. The team walked through the process for accessing and requesting Players Health coverage through the portal, which requires completing a form, signing a producer agreement, and uploading W-9 and E&O documents.
Players Health Company Introduction
Peter Small, Vice President of Insurance Partnerships and Strategy at Players Health, introduced the company as a specialist MGA focused on sports, fitness, and recreation insurance. Ty Burks, the CEO and founder, explained that Players Health was started with a mission to create safety and accessibility for athletes, and has since grown to operate in over 50 states with A-rated carriers, specializing in deep expertise in sports and fitness risks.
Player's Health Differentiators Presentation
Peter presented the four key differentiators of Player's Health, highlighting their team of experienced specialists, new portal for quick quoting and binding, comprehensive risk management resources, and expanding coverage options including general liability, accident, property, excess, and future plans for D&O, EPLI, and workers' compensation. He explained their ClearHealth Advantage approach which involves working with brokers through initial submissions, risk assessment, and ongoing engagement including claims advocacy and pre-renewal meetings. Peter emphasized that Player's Health focuses on helping organizations protect their athletes and members rather than just selling products.
Players Health Risk Management Platform
Peter, Ty, and Jason presented Players Health's risk management platform and insurance products, emphasizing their technology-first approach and comprehensive risk assessment tools. They outlined four main verticals: youth and amateur sports, collegiate programs focusing on NIL and revenue-sharing deals, K-12 schools, and facilities/fitness businesses. The presentation highlighted their AI-influenced portal designed for speed and efficiency in quoting and binding insurance, with specific mention that collegiate and K-12 products require underwriter submission rather than portal access.
College Athlete Insurance Products Overview
Jayson explained the company's insurance products for college athletes, including transfer probability, critical injury, and bonus policies sold directly to colleges and collectives. He outlined hazard groups for amateur sports ranging from low-risk activities like chess to high-risk activities like tackle football and heliskiing, and categorized fitness facilities into three groups including boutique fitness and box gyms. The discussion covered available coverage limits, including liability options from $1-5 million, participant accident coverage up to $100,000, and abuse and molestation coverage up to $2 million with specific requirements.
Players Health Insurance Portal Launch
The meeting focused on launching Players Health's insurance products through the First Connect portal. Peter and Taylor demonstrated the portal's features, including how to create quotes, upload required documents, and manage submissions. Key requirements discussed included five years of loss runs, participant counts for rating, and specific underwriting questions. The team addressed questions about coverage for martial arts schools, payments, and premium financing options, with Peter confirming they accept agency billing and premium finance arrangements. The conversation ended with information about the 24-48 hour turnaround time for agent appointments and the minimum premium of $250 for policies.
