Justin explained that Rainbow, as an MGA, handles underwriting and servicing while Accelerant acts as a reinsurer, and highlighted their expansion into California, a key market for this new program. The team encouraged attendees to engage by asking questions and sharing feedback, noting that the session was recorded for future reference.
Beauty and Wellness Insurance Coverage
Justin explained Rainbow Insurance's appetite for the beauty and wellness industry, focusing on eligible services like nail and hair salons, day spas, and instructor-led fitness studios, while excluding standalone massage parlors, med spas, and 24-hour gyms. He emphasized the company's flexibility and willingness to review unique risks, offering professional liability coverage and liquor liability for eligible businesses. Justin and Alana encouraged agents to reach out with questions and highlighted Rainbow's user-friendly quoting platform, which can generate bindable quotes within minutes or refer risks to the underwriting team for a 3-hour turnaround.
Rainbow Insurance Coverage Clarification
The meeting focused on clarifying Rainbow Insurance's coverage offerings for beauty and wellness businesses. Justin explained that the company provides BOP (Business Owners Policy) insurance, including property coverage, general liability, and professional liability with a limit of $1 million per occurrence and $2 million aggregate. He clarified that while full body cryo chambers are ineligible, saunas and cold plunges are acceptable. McKenzie asked several questions about specific business types, and Justin confirmed that Rainbow covers nail salons, beauty salons, and outdoor spas, with the latter including cold plunges. Justin also noted that the company accepts new ventures if they open within 60-90 days of the effective date and require 3 years of prior experience from the owners. The conversation ended with a demonstration of Rainbow's online platform and resources available to agents, including a beauty and wellness appetite guide and availability map.
