SUMMARY
Coterie's Digital Platform Partnership
Kim presented Coterie's partnership with First Connect and outlined Coterie's digital platform capabilities, including their three main business classes (BOP, standalone general liability, and professional liability) and coverage limits. She explained Coterie's focus on micro-businesses with up to 50 employees (capped at 15 for contractors) and detailed various coverage options including cyber liability, workplace violence coverage, and employee practices liability. Kim also introduced "Manage My Risk," a self-guided loss control service that provides business safety recommendations and access to credit services, which is offered as a value-added feature with a fee structure that includes client savings.
Restaurant Coverage and Expansion Updates
Kim confirmed she would share the slides to include in the post-webinar email with the recording. She discussed coverage considerations for restaurants closing at 4 AM, explaining that it would depend on factors like whether they have entertainment or serve as actual bars, with a "maybe" answer for unclear cases. Kim also announced an expansion of coastal appetite coverage, reducing the restricted zone from 25 miles to 3 miles from the coastline, though with specific limits including a maximum $250,000 business personal property coverage and no building coverage near water.
Coterie Insurance Portal Demo
Kim demonstrated the Coterie insurance portal dashboard and quote generation process, showing how agents can access quotes, policies, and manage client information. She explained key features including the appetite checker for industry verification, resource materials, and the ability for primary agents to add staff logins and co-brand quotes with their agency logo. Kim walked through the complete quote creation process for a restaurant, including underwriting questions, coverage selection, and payment options, noting that the entire process typically takes about three minutes from quote to binding.
Coterie Insurance Coverage Overview
Kim provided a comprehensive overview of Coterie's insurance coverage options, addressing numerous questions about policy eligibility and limitations. Key points included that the company offers liquor liability coverage in California but not for nail salons, does not cover live entertainment or garage keepers, and has specific restrictions on coverage for contractors in New York. Kim announced a contest incentive where agents can earn up to $100 in gift cards by writing up to four policies by October 31st. The team agreed to send out an appetite list for California after the call and promised to follow up on any questions not fully addressed during the webinar.
